Comelec, DILG, PNP and Church Conducts Election Briefing.

October 14, 2010 was a red letter day for all candidates in the coming Barangay and SK elections in the town of Palompon, Leyte, which will be held simultaneously this coming October 25, 2010 all over the Philippines.

The briefing was started by an invocation and a short message coming from Fr. Edward Tantuico, assistant parish priest of the said town, giving the needed reminders to all candidates to be sober enough in the campaign period and not to resort to illegal methods just to get the much needed votes to win in the said election.

He was followed by the Chief, Philippine National Police who summarized various resolutions pertaining to the conduct of each candidate with respect to what is allowed and disallowed in the scheduled election particularly the enforcement of the gun ban. Election Officer Leandro Berino, gave a summary of the supplemental information he gave out to each candidate and explained further the various resolutions made by the Comelec in connection with the Barangay and Sk Elections 2010 particularly Res. 9029 - on  Filing of Certificate of Candidacy, Res. 9019 - Campaign Period for Barangay and SK Offices, Res. 9043 - Non-Partisan Character of the Elections, Barangay Assembly, Public Forum, Expenses of Candidates, Election Expenses, Common Poster Areas, Lawful Election Propaganda, Res. 9030 - Watchers of Candidates, Res. 9038 - Prohibition of Barangay Officials as Official Watchers, Res. 9044 - Inspection and Sealing of Book of Voters.

Meanwhile, DILG Officer Mark Dacillo enumerated their own Ten Commandments of A Responsible Candidate like:

1.) They should be a Role Model as candidates;
2.) Obey All Rules as enunciated by the Comelec;
3.) Campaign on Issues relative to the Barangay and SK Elections;
4.) Do not promise anything that you can't fulfill;
5.) Do not attack honor, reputation of other candidates;
6.) Do not buy votes'
7.) Do not use any form of violence;
8.) Do not.....
