MANILA, Philippines – The UE Chorale braces itself for its upcoming competition in choral festivals and performances in Europe from March to June this year.
Representing the Philippines, the UE Chorale will compete against the world’s best choirs in the 11th International Choral Competition Maribor in Slovenia on April 11-15, the Harmonie Festival 2011 in Lindenholzhausen, Germany on June 2 to 6 and the 12th International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf in Germany, June 10-15.
The internationally acclaimed UE Chorale is among the three choral groups from Asian countries, and the fourth choir from the Philippines to qualify in the Marktoberdorf’s biennial choir competition held only during odd-number-ended years. The UE Chorale will also perform in different choral festivals and concerts in Belgium, France, Italy and Netherlands and serenade Filipino communities in these countries.
As a send-off, the UE Chorale will hold a concert, dubbed “East to West IV… awitan, tulaan, tuksuhan,” at 8 p.m. on March 8 at the PhilAm Life Auditorium.
