MAKE A FIST. That is roughly the size of your heart. It is, as many doctors agree, the most important organ of your body—certainly the hardworking. Even heart specialists agree that the last organ to go at the moment of certain death is the heart.

Our lives today are moving at a dangerously altered speed, health-wise. Fast-tracking one’s day-to-day life also means advancing the aging process. But why are we always in a rush?

Here are ways to take care of our heart and other body organs.

1. A technique taught by anti-stress experts is called “STEPPING OUT.” Others call it detachment. Try to step outside of yourself. By so doing, you become an observer of yourself, your surroundings, your life and circumstances.

Do you know what is considered one of the major causes of illness today? Emotional stress. If you are in the midst of an emotional crisis, make a decision to save yourself by getting out of your situation through a unique 6-2-6 exercise.

Inhale for 6 counts. Simple? Try it. Close your eyes and allow your mind to drift. Thoughts will pop up—don’t pass judgment on them. Just let them drift along the waters of your consciousness.

Now, focus on yourself; see the “you” that is smiling. Know and discover that this is your true essence. Hold this vision.

Stay calm and quiet for 5-10 minutes. Then open your eyes.

2. Clean out toxin buildup in your body. Undergo a colon cleanse. Sign up for seven days at The Farm in San Benito, or do your own colon cleansing at home. Try red juice, which has 36 fruits and vegetable extracts. Within 10 days your blood sugar, cholesterol and weight problems will improve. This is based on actual testimonials. 3. Do a liver/gallbladder cleanse. After your colon cleanse, rest for two weeks and begin with an oral regimen using herbal preparation which you can take at home. (Call Dr. Irene Lim of Biosafe, tel. 4119168)

4. Have a kidney and bladder cleanse. A natural medicine practitioner can guide you through this treatment. I have a friend whose urine turned yellow-brown one morning. Her distress call to me included her fear of being hospitalized. I recommended coconut water cleanse of 10 glasses between 15 glasses of water. This, plus a famous native herb called sambong—either six herbal capsules or six cups of the tea daily. Within 24 hours her urine cleared, after which I advised her to see a doctor.

5. Have a parasite cleanse. Everyone has a resident inside them. Even if you are in denial about this, know that every vegetable, fruit, meat, fish we eat contains a parasite. Try a parasite-zapping therapy using a medically recognized electronic regimen. (Meditronics from Switzerland, tel. 8813554, 0916-6181687).

6. Do a fungus/candida cleanse. In this day and age of antibiotics, the natural good bacteria in the body are killed. Thus, the need to replenish them. Without probiotic help via acidophilus, fungus will thrive and depress the immune system.

7. Try lymphatic drainage. The lymph is the garbage collector of the body. Its job is to pick up toxins from the body. Give it a little help through lymphatic massage. (Call your favorite spa or visit Shui Spa/Gerry Sy, tel. 7077453).
