One reason Pinoys want to leave RP

Philippine Daily Inquirer
September 12, 2010

THE AUG. 12 editorial hit the nail right on the head. Drug abuse is so prevalent. It is very easy to buy shabu on the streets of Metro Manila. It is like buying candy. You cannot trust a policeman because he could be the pusher or protector.

I jumped with joy when I heard the news that Rep. Ronald Singson was in a Hong Kong jail because he was caught with 26 grams of cocaine in his possession. You cannot fault the lowly airport security who turned a blind eye when he left; he was afraid to lose his job because his children could go hungry had he stopped the high and mighty scion of the self-confessed jueteng lord from Ilocos Sur. But in a place where Singson is a nobody, he was immediately hauled off to jail where he certainly belongs.

This is one of the reasons why good Filipinos choose to go abroad and acquire US or Canadian citizenship. If you are a good Filipino and you love your family and you wish your children to grow up in a safe environment, you certainly dream of migrating to a country where criminals are punished. In our country, sad to say, the likes of the Singsons, Ampatuans, Arroyos flourish and prosper.

There is no reason to be patriotic anymore in this land of hoodlums where you can get away with murder in broad daylight. There will come a time when all good, hardworking Filipinos will leave this country, and there would be nobody left here but the trapos, kotong cops, drug pushers, gambling lords, guns for hire, corrupt officials, extortionist NPAs, lazy public servants, malnourished children, drug-dependent youth and the dregs of society. If this time comes and definitely it will come in the not-so-distant future, there will be a revolution of sorts among these people and the Philippines will explode.
