CEBU CITY—Filinvest Land Inc. (FLI) plans to roll out more real estate development projects in Cebu, FLI chair emeritus Andrew Gotianun Sr. said during the launching of its latest project in this city.

The FLI launched last week what the company called as its “biggest homecoming” project in the province, called Citta Di Mare.
“We will have more (investments) in Cebu,” Gotianun told the Inquirer.
He cited Cebu as one of the most ideal destinations for investment in the country.
“Cebu will definitely continue to grow in importance,” Gotianun said.
FLI first vice president Tristan Las Marias confirmed to the Inquirer that the company was scouting for new locations in Cebu for future projects, which include a business process outsourcing building, hotel and subdivision.
“We target to launch any one of these projects in the forthcoming year. Hopefully, we can finally secure a location before the year ends,” said Las Marias.
The Gotianun patriarch traces his roots and humble beginnings to Cebu.
“Citta Di Mare is our biggest homecoming in Cebu. This project is another chance for me to come home,” said Gotianun.
Citta Di Mare, which is Italian for “City by the Sea,” is a 50.6-hectare seaside residential project set to rise in the reclaimed South Road Properties owned by the Cebu City government.
The Italian-inspired seaside community is designed with spacious residential cluster and waterfrontcommercial and lifestyle strip.
The first phase of the project will break ground in December.
Gotianun said he put up his first residential project in Cebu, now called the San Miguel Subdivision in Barangay (village) Banilad, Cebu City.
Today, FLI’s projects in Cebu include the Grand Cenia Condotel in Cebu City, Seascapes Resort Town in Lapu-Lapu City and One Oasis Condo Compound in Cebu City.
It also developed the Aldea del Sol subdivision in Lapu-Lapu City and the Corona del Mar subdivision in Talisay City.
“Cebu is very close to me. My family traces its roots to this place, where my parents earned a living as traders. Cebu was my training ground, where I’ve developed my acumen for business. Cebu is a special place for me and it will always be my home,” Gotianun said.
