Highlights of 2012 of the Netherlands Shipping Training Centre in cooperation with the Palompon Institute of Technology located at the PIT Main Campus, Palompon, Leyte was published in the latest NSTC Newsletter Volume 5, No. 1 dated November 2012.
Among the highlights was the survey made by the national maritime magazine "Seaways" wherein it was revealed that the marine engineering department of PIT emerged No. 1 under category 2 (100 to 999 takers) in the 2011 Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) Board examinations. The nautical department of PIT ranked No. 3 under Category 2 in 2011.
