Singing priests to hold concert in Tacloban

Singing priests to hold concert in Tacloban

THE singing priests of the Archdiocese of Palo will once again hold a concert on June 17 at the Tacloban Convention Center.

Father Amadeo Alvero, media liaison of the archdiocese, said that the members of the Peter’s Chord, the group of the 12 singing priests, will lead the concert for a cause.

The proceeds of the concert will be used for the ongoing rehabilitation of the Palo Metropolitan Cathedral, which will be used as the main site for next year’s diamond Jubilee celebration as a diocese, Alvero said.

Tickets will be sold at P200, P500, P1,000 and P2,000 at the Pauline’s.

The diocese of Palo was established on November 28, 1937 by Pope Pius XI through his apostolic letter “Si Qua In Orbe” with Monsignor Manuel Morgia MascariƱas as its first bishop.

Blessed Pope John Paul II upgraded the Palo diocese into an archdiocese on November 15, 1982 with seven pastors serving as its archbishop. (Leyte Samar Daily Express)
