While most people consider big cities and places with so much architecture, art and culture as their dream destinations, others just want to visit and unwind in a secluded place away from the bustling cities that they have grown so accustomed with.
Romantic islands are always on list of couples who want to take a vacation either to bring back the passion in a relationship or simply relax and enjoy the moment with their partners.
And while Boracay in Aklan is quite popular both in the Philippines and abroad, also it being the most visited destination in the Philippines during the summer, it didn’t make the list of Travel and Leisure’s most romantic islands in the world.
Pamalican Island in the Philippines did, though. Most wouldn’t recognize this island if the only resort inside it wouldn’t be mentioned. Pamalican Island is home to the Philippines’ most private – and if I may add, most luxurious and expensive – destination, Amanpulo.
As Travel and Leisure describes it:
Amanpulo is set on its own private island southwest of Manila with just 40 secluded pitched-roof traditional villas, strung along a pristine beach with sand so white it’s blinding. Beachcombers can navigate the entire island on foot in less than two hours, keeping their eyes out for baby sharks, kingfishers, and sea turtles, which lay their eggs here between March and October.
Amanpulo made the list along with other beautiful and romantic destinations around the world like the Barbuda and St. Lucia in the Caribbean, Santorini in Greece, Catalina Island in California, Capri in Italy and many other beautiful and very romantic islands around the globe.
